The Witcher 3’s New Trailer Places the Focus on Combat

May 7, 2015 by Stephen Daly

In which Geralt and Ciri kill everything that moves.

CD Projekt RED has released a new trailer for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt titled 'Rage & Steel'.

The video opens with suitably dramatic music before becoming a bit of a gore fest as Geralt hacks his way through humans and monsters alike before Ciri gets her turn at the end.

Players in the game will play as both characters, and it seems they're equally deathly.

"She’s a living weapon… and everyone wants to control her. This, plus she also has her own will and agenda, so it’s not just finding her that counts. I think that is the most important aspect of this character. Geralt knows Ciri since she was a child. She’s Geralt’s apprentice and they have a close emotional bond – he trained her so she could become a witcheress," developer Robert Malinowski said.

Yesterday, CD Projekt RED provided details of an art contest taking place this month to mark the game's release, and Europe's first video game-themed pop-up store in Amsterdam.

The Witcher 3 will be released on May 19th for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
