Hogwarts Legacy is a game that Harry Potter fans have been waiting on for a good while now. After leaks and rumors surfaced online, we finally received confirmation of this game during 2020. The big grand reveal came from a PlayStation 5 event in September of 2020, but since then, it’s been scarce news regarding what the game will entail. While the developers, Avalanche Software, have been working on the title we still don’t know just when in 2022 we will get our hands on a copy.
While the game was first unveiled during a Sony event, Hogwarts Legacy is not a PlayStation exclusive. Instead, players can expect the game on the PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S alongside the PlayStation 4 or PlayStation 5 platforms. There is likely some kind of marketing deal with the game alongside Sony, which is why we haven’t seen the game pop up for Microsoft’s streaming events. Last month Sony unveiled a State of Play, and while there were some rumors that Hogwarts Legacy would be featured, the game was a no-show.
Fans might have been disappointed, but now rumors and speculation are building up that there might be one final event that could bring up Hogwarts Legacy. Currently, players are looking towards The Game Awards 2021 for a possible tease or new trailer. This event is scheduled to take place on December 9, 2021. With it will come the different awards for certain genres of games and accomplishments in the industry. However, this event has also brought out different video game reveals and updates for the upcoming year.
It’s not confirmed by any means, but so far, there is plenty of fans who hope that this game could appear in some regard during this year’s award ceremony.
