Battlefield 4 Gains Megalodon In Paracel Storm, While Battlefield Hardline Active Players Dip

May 4, 2015 by Ryan Parreno

Hardline has suffered with a dip in numbers from 300,000 to 70,000 players.

EA DICE has finally added Megalodon to the Paracel Storm map. It’s brought back new life to Battlefield 4, while Visceral works on updating Battlefield Hardline.

This video comes to us courtesy of YouTuber Westie, whom you can subscribe to here.

Megalodon was always intended to be in Paracel Storm from the start, but as you may know all too well, EA DICE has had to put out update after update to get the game in a playable state after launch. It is now literally update 100, and DICE have apparently added another Easter Egg aside from Megalodon in Battlefield 4.

Regarding Battlefield Hardline, Westie shares some insight on what’s going on with Visceral. The issues the conventional weapons had did not come up when Westie and other YouTubers played in pre alpha, because they were experimenting with the newer items. The game has suffered with a dip in numbers from 300,000 to 70,000 players.

Visceral has not slacked in listening to customer feedback, and already had their first patch out. Unfortunately, it does not do enough to deal with the reported issues, not going far enough to nerf overpowered weapons. More importantly, the patch did not buff the weaker weapons that needed adjusting.

Westie claims the game is still worth playing, but there is not much new activity going on at the moment. He implies thatHardline players are waiting for the game’s first DLC, Criminal Activity. He also opines that the game would have benefited from launch DLC.

Westie does not make any mention of Battlefield Hardline’s glorification of a militarized police. He does refer to it as a spinoff game meant to keep fans engaged until the next main Battlefield game, but also does not bring up how many Battlefield fans were turned off by it being too different.

Do you think Battlefield Hardline players will jump back in for Criminal Activity? Or would you rather find Megalodon and the other DLC in Battlefield 4? Share your thoughts with us in the comments.
