Overkill’s The Walking Dead Releases in 2016

April 30, 2015 by Ian Miles Cheong

The Walking Dead looms on the horizon.

Overkill's The Walking Dead's release window has been announced for the PC, PS4 and Xbox One–it's out in 2016.

The developer's parent company Starbreeze announced today that the game will be published by 505 Games, which published their previous title Payday 2.

According to the press release, the game is designed to be a co-op multiplayer title (much like Payday and its sequel are), delivering a completely new experience that explores characters and storylines new to Robert Kirkman's The Walking Dead franchise. So probably don't expect Rick Grimes to show up.

The game is set for release on both new-gen platforms and the PC in 2016, both digitally and at retail.
