Resident Evil Remaster Sells Over One Million Copies

April 24, 2015 by Jacob Saylor

That’s an impressive feat.

Resident Evil was recently the subject of an HD remaster and it has apparently been extremely profitable for developer and publisher Capcom. The $20 downloadable title is available and was released January 20 on Playstation 3, Playstation 4, Xbox 360, Xbox One and PC platforms, which has made the game very accessible.

This accessibility has led to Resident Evil to quite a monumental milestone: one million copies sold. Many of these sales have come as a direct result of the Playstation Network version of the game. The Resident Evil remaster has broken sales records on Sony platforms, having recently captured the title of "Biggest Day One Sales" of any downloadable title.

The franchise as a whole also passes 65 million copies sold across all platforms and games. This is quite an achievement and we're excited to see what Capcom has coming down the pipe. Deep Down is still slated for a nondescript 2015 release. We'll hopefully get more details on the game and other Capcom products as the year continues.
