Assassin’s Creed Valhalla Finally Has A Discovery Tour Mode

October 20, 2021 by Dennis Patrick

Enjoy a stroll and take in the culture.

The Assassin’s Creed franchise is a massively popular one as it takes players to all kinds of different locations around the world and periods. It’s an interesting concept as players instantly watch the protagonist get transported to past lives in history. Then there’s the storyline of the Templar Order facing off against the Assassins in an epic battle that spans different ages. However, because this game franchise takes place in different eras, scenery and culture are constantly changed.

We’ve seen games ranging from ancient Egypt, Greece, and, more recently, the age of Vikings. Fortunately, Ubisoft’s development team has kept up with the history books while also delivered locations and scenes that would have stayed true to the actual period. As a result, that’s something players can really take in and watch while not going through a mission. Thankfully, Ubisoft understood this and delivered the Discovery Tour mode. This mode grants players a chance to tune into the actual historical side of the game rather than the fictional narrative adventure.

Today players will find that there is now a Discovery Tour option for Assassin’s Creed Valhalla. This game mode allows players to explore and interact with the Viking Age without playing through the actual game campaign. This gives players more insight to what life was like back during that particular time period. If you enjoyed this mode in past games, then you will know exactly what to expect with this installment. Of course, there’s also a standalone mode to purchase if you don’t own Assassin’s Creed Valhalla already.

The Discovery Tour: Viking Age gives players access to the standalone version of this game mode. You won’t get the base game’s campaign, but those that enjoy the history aspect of Assassin’s Creed games may find this well worth the purchase. Although, at the moment, it’s only available for the PC platform as console ports should arrive next year. In the meantime, you can check out the Assassin’s Creed Discovery Tour trailer in the video embedded above.
