Batman Arkham Knight Officer Down Trailer Breakdown

March 25, 2015 by Ryan Parreno

Many new combat and navigation elements were revealed in the trailer.

This is a breakdown of the Batman Arkham Knight Officer Down trailer from CabooseXBL. You can subscribe to CabooseXBL from YouTube here.

One of the interesting plot points is that the Commissioner thinks his daughter Barbara has left Gotham, but she’s actually in the Clock Tower, collecting intel for Bruce as Oracle. There is a chance that Gordon discovers Oracle, and even Batgirl, in Arkhamverse continuity.

Gliding has more nuances. Bruce demonstrates dive bombing down, before catching wind to slightly rise and get a good view of each street before alighting.

Dialogue from the trailer suggests that Harley Quinn has been missing in Gotham’s underground since the events of Arkham City. Caboose believes she may have been in hiding, building her army, but I have my own theory.

During combat, Bruce grabs a bat from a thug, and seamlessly continues the combo, this time equipping the bat. Apparently, this can be done with many of the available weapons.

Bruce demonstrates knocking an opponent down and then picking him up off the ground for another takedown. He is also shown employing a camera switching takedown from mid-air (a flying kick).

During the car chase, arrows appear to guide Bruce towards his target. This seems to be true for any time you need to move destinations.

When Bruce interrogates the driver, the driver tries to attack him with Scarecrow’s fear toxin. The toxin could differentiate combat when it comes to Scarecrow’s men, and could be something to watch out for.

We get a preview of Detective Vision, with Bruce’s eye holes glowing white as his suit scans the toxin vial for information.

Batman Arkham Knight will be released on June 23 on Windows, Mac, Linux, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
