Halo 5: Guardians may see players hunt down Master Chief as a traitor, a teaser site set up to promote the game has suggested.
The site offers an episodic investigation into the truth about Spartan 117 and follows the story of war photographer and journalist Benjamin Giraud, who attempted to write a biography about Master Chief but discovered some strange details while investigating the case.
In the description, Giraud comments, "What began as a high-profile hero story quickly turns into a full-blown investigation. Sources claim they know the “real Master Chief”: The boy, the soldier, the hero…the traitor? But who’s telling the truth?"
Giraud is now determined to get to the truth, no matter what that is. The site now offers a short audio clip and a new episode will be revealed each week.
It was recently suggested that Cortana will have a role to play in the game, despite the ending of Halo 4.
