Dragon Ball Xenoverse is a Success, Pushes 1.5 Million Units Worldwide

March 17, 2015 by Ian Miles Cheong

Kamehameha!

The newly released Dragon Ball Xenoverse has shipped over 1.5 million units worldwide since hitting stores last month, publisher Bandai Namco has announced.

"I would like to thank everyone for their support on this new challenge," said producer Masayuki Hirano regarding its success. "We decided to take a risk and create a completely new concept to entertain our fans and Dragon Ball lovers and we are quite proud of the successful result!

Dragon Ball Xenoverse came out for the PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, Xbox One and PC in February and allows players the ability to create their very own Dragon Ball character to traverse large 3D arenas, doing battle against anyone they meet out in the world’s wide open environment.

"On a more personal note, I feel honoured to create a game around a licence as massive as Dragon Ball!" continued Hirano. "On behalf of Bandai Namco Games: thanks for your amazing support! We will continue working and reaching new heights!"
