To mark the release of Sid Meier's Starships tomorrow, publisher 2K Games has released a tutorial looking at the basics.
Meier has said that the inspiration for Starships came when he asked himself how Civilization Beyond Earth's isolated colonists could return to Terra Firma.
Beyond Earth was updated earlier today to prepare for Starships as the Fixasis development team was "interested in the idea of having two separate games able to pass information between them, and what that might mean for players."

A turn-based 4X space-strategy title, Starships will be available for iPad, Mac, and PC.
