Cities XL 2012 Might Just Pick Up Where Maxis Left Off

August 18, 2011 by Josh Wanamaker

The spiritual successor to SimCity 4000 may finally be upon us after so many disappointing years of hollow attempts.

As well ALL know, SimCity 4000 was the last great City Simulator. The imitators that have risen up to fill that role have made valiant but otherwise hollow attempts at being the new King of the genre, but I must admit they did the industry a favor by keeping the genre alive. Now, Cities XL 2012 might finally be able to take that most holy of holy cakes from the clutches of SimCity 4000, as it seems to be possibly more intricate than Maxis' masterpiece.

I mean, it goes right down to individual PEOPLE. That's pretty impressive! If anything, perhaps it'll get Maxis off it's collective ass with a "Oh no you di-ant!" and enthuse them to produce SimCity 5000, which they should have done years ago.
