Battlefield Hardline Runs at 900p on PS4, 720p on Xbox One

March 9, 2015 by Ian Miles Cheong

Visceral has revealed the resolutions in which the game will run.

In the wake of the release of Battlefield Hardline’s launch trailer, Visceral Games has announced (via Twitter) the resolutions in which the game is set to run on console hardware.

The studio revealed that the game will run at a resolution of 900p on the PlayStation 4 and at a much lower 720p on the Xbox One. The news wasn’t terribly well received by fans, who were quick to bash console hardware for running the game at sub-optimal (read: less than 1080p) resolutions. The PC version, by contrast, does not suffer from such limitations.

Fortunately for the game itself, it’ll be running at 60 frames per second, which explains why the developers had to optimize the game to run at less-than-1080p resolutions.

Likewise, servers on both the PS4 and Xbox One are expected to offer 64-player matches, where players will be able to battle for supremacy in the game’s classic Conquest mode, which was showcased during the beta.

The game is out on March 17, 2014 for the PC, Xbox One, PS4, PS3, and Xbox 360.
