Overwatch Beta to Start this Autumn, New Characters Revealed

March 6, 2015 by Stephen Daly

Cowboy Jesse McCree and tank Zarya shown off with gameplay.

Blizzard has announced that Overwatch's beta will begin this autumn at PAX East today. Interested players can sign-up to participate in the game's trial on Battle.net.

In addition to the beta news, Blizzard also revealed two new characters: Zarya and Jesse McCree, a cowboy inspired figure. Blizzard has been criticised for the design of women characters in the game, and it seems Zarya is a response to that criticism.

Overwatch is a team-based, PvP multiplayer shooter based on the transformed remnants of cancelled MMO Titan, and Blizzard's first new IP in almost two decades.
