Xbox One March Update: Screenshots and Suggested Friends Features Coming

February 19, 2015 by Jacob Saylor

Xbox One gets just a little bit better.

Microsoft's Xbox One has had a shaky start in the eighth-generation console arms race. It's decidedly ahead of Nintendo's Wii U, but also struts far behind Sony's Playstation 4. It's been very interesting to see how wide the gaps of this generation's sales have been, though we're sure everything will even out over the next year or so, as gamers feel the need to open up their gaming options.

Microsoft will soon be adding a host of new features during the Xbox One's March system update. We've listed these updates for you below, among them the much-anticipated screenshot feature, as well as the ability to view 'suggested friends.'

Screenshots – New in preview is a highly requested feature by our community from the Xbox feedback site.  While playing a game, you can now take screenshots on your Xbox One console by simply double-tapping the Xbox button on your controller to capture a screenshot and pressing Y to save the screenshot. You can also say “Xbox Take a Screenshot” to take and save a screenshot.

Suggested friends – With the suggested friends feature, the Friends area in home and your friends list will help you find and add friends. Suggested friends will include people you might know, so you add more friends to game with, and top community broadcasters and clip creators, so you can get more great content in your activity feed. We’re also adding a new suggested friends page to the Friends area.

Microsoft is offering gamers a lot with each new month on the Xbox One, so rivals Sony and Nintendo definitely need to keep their heads in the game.
