Amnesia: The Dark Descent Scares 400,000 Gamers

Amnesia: The Dark Descent has sold over 400,000 copies on the PC.

Frictional Games must have been in dreamland when their sales expectations for Amnesia: The Dark Descent was shattered; the studio were expecting an accumalative of 100,000 copies being sold but it far exceeded that following the horror game's launch. It's now been revealed that the PC title has sold a total of 400,000 copies.

Frictional's Thomas Grip revealed during the Games Developer Conference Europe the survival horror title has achieved sales which the company never dreamed of achieving: 400,000 copies.

Last January saw the studio release sales figures which unveiled the fact that Amnesia: The Dark Descent had nearly reached the 200,000 copies sold milestone; far exceeding what they hoped for initially which was 100,00 copies – this milestone was described as "dream estimates" by Frictional.
