Uncharted 4 Details: Sandbox, Graphical Upgrade, And More

February 16, 2015 by Ryan Parreno

Naughty Dog has something predictable to say about the game’s framerate.

New details on Uncharted 4 have appeared courtesy the latest issue of PlayStation Official Magazine UK.

The game will be a large sandbox, even bigger in scale than Naughty Dog’s last project like it, Jak 3. You will get to explore the maps and find small details connected to the plot.

We also have confirmation that use of the grappling hook and axe to climb will not be easy. With the use of special physics, Nathan is likely to fall with even a small lack of balance, unless he can compensate appropriately.

This should sound familiar to fans. Naughty Dog confirms that the playable demo the magazine previewed still runs at 30FPS. They are targeting to reach 60FPS, without a compromise in gameplay quality.

The game’s textures are definitely going to see an improvement, up to four times as much as in the last chapter preview. Naughty Dog also confirmed that there will be differences between the textures seen in cut scenes and in game.

Uncharted 4 will be releasing to PlayStation 4 in 2015.
