Destiny’s February Update Will Include New Reputation UI

February 13, 2015 by Ian Miles Cheong

Destiny players will soon be able to check their reputation with factions from anywhere in the world.

In this week’s Bungie Weekly Update for their first-person shooter Destiny, the studio revealed plans to add a much-requested feature into the game in a future patch: reputation UI.

The game’s 1.1.1 update, which comes out soon, will include a new user interface enhancement allowing players to check their faction and vendor reputation levels from anywhere in the game. They’ll no longer have to traverse to the appropriate vendor to find out what their reputation is with them.

The game’s interface design lead David Candland explained why this feature is coming in the game’s next patch. He wrote:

“We’re working on a lot of new features. This one is being included in 1.1.1 because it had a very low impact on our Test team,” he said.

“We’ve known we’ve wanted this feature since we donned our first piece of faction class gear, and the community has too. It was a no-brainer.

“Since reputation really affects your buying power, it made sense to put it in close proximity to your currencies. The inventory screen real estate is pretty full, so using the fly-out convention we established in the settings screen was a way to recoup some space, yet still allow tooltips for another layer of detail.”

The 1.1.1 update is set for release before the end of the month, and will include major rebalancing to the game’s weapon classes.
