PlayStation 4 Multiplayer Open to Everyone this Weekend

February 9, 2015 by Stephen Daly

It’s a real Plus if you ask me.

Sony has announced that everyone will be able to access online multiplayer features on PlayStation 4 this weekend, even without a PlayStation Plus subscription.

The event will begin at 06:00 GMTon Friday, February 13th and run until 06:00 GMT Monday, February 16th. All games will be available to play online during the event, including the likes of Far Cry 4, Grand Theft Auto Online, Dragon Age: Inquisition, and Destiny.

While PlayStation Plus was rolled out during the PS3 era, it wasn't (and isn't) needed for multiplayer on that system or PS Vita. PS4 is Sony's first console to require a subscription for online play.

Free-to-play games do not require a Plus subscription despite their online nature.
