Alone in the Dark Devs Announce White Night for PS4

February 2, 2015 by Stephen Daly

Like all good horrors, it’s set in a deserted mansion.

Former Alone in the Dark developers have announced a new survival horror game for PlayStation 4, White Night.

Ronan Coiffec, discussing the game on the PlayStation Blog, wrote:

"Set in Boston in the 1930s, White Night is an old-school survival horror adventure with a distinct black-and-white film noir look that grabs you immediately. We wanted to create something that people would enjoy, but also something that would stand out as unusual and refreshing in today’s survival horror landscape."

In order to do this, Coiffec said that they are focusing on "mature storytelling, strong characters, compelling environments and equal respect for tension and terror."

The game is set in a deserted mansion and the developers researched the era through black and white cinema, jazz music, and a week long shut-in at Normandy mansion.

First unveiled at the 2013 Game Connection Europe show in Paris, White Night won both the Best PC & Console Hardcore Award and Best Selected Project Award.
