If you're familiar with the Madden series, then you'll know that the games feature a simulator mode. In this particular mode, players can pit two teams against each other and watch them duke it out. Basically, you can have NFL Sundays without it ever being Sunday.
At any rate, the New England Patriots beat the Seattle Seahawks yesterday to win the 2015 Super Bowl. There's a ton of controversy surrounding a referee call near the end of the game, but nevertheless, we have a clear winner in our midst… Something Madden NFL 2015 players knew long before kick-off.
The simulation mode in Madden 2015 correctly predicted the score and outcome of this year's Super Bowl. Furthermore, it also predicted that the Patriots would be trailing in the third quarter with a score of 24-14, only to stage a massive comeback in the fourth. Tom Brady was also chosen by the simulation as Super Bowl MVP. The Madden 2015 simulation guessed that Brady would pass for 335 yards and run in four touchdowns; in actuality, he ran 328 yards and scored four touchdowns.
I wonder what this will do to betting odds in next year's NFL season. The simulation correctly predicted nine games this past season, only guessing 3 outcomes wrong.
