Blizzard announced that Season 2 of Diablo III will be commencing on Friday, February 13th – just ten days following the conclusion of Season 1.
While the specific launch time for the new season will vary depending on your region, players from across the world can look forward to getting their hands on the new legendary items and class changes which were included with Patch 2.1.2. According to a blue post over at the Blizzard forums,
Season 1 is about to draw to a close, and we wanted to give players an opportunity to prepare for the start of the new season with some dates and times to plan around.Season 1 End Times*Season 1 will be ending at the following dates and times for each region:North America: Tuesday, February 3 @ 4:00 p.m. PSTEurope: Wednesday, February 4 @ 4:00 p.m. CETAsia: Wednesday, February 4 @ 4:00 p.m. KSTSeason 2 Start TimesSeason 2 will be starting at the following dates and times for each region:North America: Friday, February 13 @ 6:00 p.m. PSTEurope: Friday, February 13 @ 6:00 p.m. CETAsia: Friday, February 13 @ 6:00 p.m. KST
Other upcoming changes to Diablo III include Patch 2.2, which will add a variety of significant changes to class item sets, though no additional item sets will be included.
Between the ending of Season 1 and the start of Season 2, there will be a brief downtime lasting approximately one or two weeks and that Season 2 itself will last for a few months. According to the development team for Diablo III, their intention is for future seasons to have the current season end with a corresponding patch deployed and then for the subsequent season to commence.
