The Witcher 3’s Combat System Features over One-Hundred Animations

January 28, 2015 by Jacob Saylor

That’s quite a lot.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt will be available to gamers on May 19 later this year. Since there's a huge lack of open-world RPG titles for gamers to fight their way through at the moment, we're left to gather tiny morsels of information.

The latest in this long line of growing information pertinent to The Witcher 3 comes in relation to the game's combat system. An information blowout from Game Informer indicates a number of features that will be in The Witcher 3, but this piece of data stands out from the rest:

"Melee combat features over 100 combat moves and animations. How many you'll actually see just depends on if you want to focus on that branch of the skill tree."

There are definitely going to be a myriad of different training options and skill trees to choose from, but with over one-hundred animations lurking in the game's combat system, there should be an endless amount of variety for players to discover. This will be a small encouragement for players to switch up their specializations later in the game, once they've grown tired of their chosen skills.
