Gearbox Software have shared a new major preview forHomeworld Remastered, including the release date.
Homeworld Remastered will be released on PC February 25, for Windows via Steam. The bundle includes Homeworld and Homeworld 2, rebuilt from the ground up. Buying the game now will also give you access to Homeworld Classic, Homeworld 2 Classic, and the Homeworld Remastered Steam Multiplayer Beta, all upon the game’s launch.
As they revealed earlier on, the classic versions of the first two games also received some enhancements to make them compatible with modern systems.
Gearbox has also finally shared the first trailer showing official gameplay for the new remastered versions. For those who did not experience these games the first time, it may seem like a game made today.
One could make the argument that the Homeworld games always were conceptually ahead of their time. Now, we see that vision seemingly fully realized, with graphics and gaming finally at the level where it can do justice to these sprawling, epic space battles as they play out in real time.
