Nintendo Switch Online Rumors Suggest Price Hike After Inclusion Of N64 Games

Sep 16, 2021 Dennis Patrick

Another rumor circulating online claims Nintendo 64 games are coming.

The Nintendo Switch offers a premium online subscription service. Much like the competitor’s Sony and Microsoft, Nintendo can provide players with special deals. There’s also the benefit of being able to play online multiplayer video games. However, there’s another reason that these premium services are of interest to players. That’s, of course, the free video games you receive monthly. With that said, there is one problem Nintendo Switch players face when it comes to this particular premium subscription attribute.

For the Nintendo Switch, the online subscription service only provides NES and SNES video games. That includes a collection of titles for both platforms that continue to see new titles added into the mix. However, fans have been critical over what games are added onto the service as there are notable omissions. So you might not have all the games or even some of the classics, but you might soon have additional platforms available.

We’ve seen plenty of rumors in the past that suggest other platforms will be added. Recently, the big push online was Game Boy and Game Boy Color games. However, a reliable source online, Nate the Hate, has claimed that following after will be the Nintendo 64. The Nintendo 64 saw several big video game title hits like the iconic Super Mario 64 and The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. So a collection of games could be coming, but Nate the Hate also believes this inclusion will come with a higher-tier Nintendo Switch Online service.

The Nintendo Switch Online service might not include some of the latest video game titles compared to its competitors. Although, what makes them stand out is the fact that they charge significantly less. For an entire year’s worth of Nintendo Switch Online, players only have to pay $20. If the claims by Nate the Hate prove to be accurate, we could see a price hike with the inclusion of other platforms being added to the service. With that said, this is all a rumor for now. Nintendo has yet to make official statements on what the future holds for their Nintendo Switch Online service.
