Rock Band Music Store Gets Three New Songs Long After Weekly DLC Ended

January 12, 2015 by Tony Ponce

Tracks by Arctic Monkeys, Avenged Sevenfold, and Foo Fighters.

Nearly two years ago, Harmonix closed a significant chapter in its history by ending weekly Rock Band DLC. But like Charlie B. Barkin from All Dogs Go to Heaven once said, you can't keep a good dog down. Surprise, surprise: Harmonix has announced a brand-new song update for release on PS3 and Xbox 360 tomorrow, January 13.

The three songs are "R U Mine?" by Arctic Monkeys, "Shepherd of Fire" by Avenged Sevenfold, and "Something from Nothing" by Foo Fighters, and as always, they are $1.99 each. The songs are compatible with Rock Band 3 as well as Rock Band Blitz, the digital download that plays more like Frequency or Amplitude.

Harmonix said way back when that new songs weren't ruled out, but I doubt anyone expected  such a sudden reemergence after 21 months of slumber. Maybe we'll get another song set in two more years!
