Twitch Movie Night Offers Free, Communal Viewing of Gaming Documentaries

January 9, 2015 by Jacob Saylor

Get ready for fun times with your gaming friends.

Twitch, the popular streaming service used by hordes of gamers, will be offering special movie nights. During these events, which span a near two-month period, users will get free access to communal viewings of gaming documentaries.

We've provided a list of which movies you'll be able to see, as well as the dates they are available:

  • January 9: Stream Dream and Winter Releases Trailer
  • January 16: Pixel Poetry – A games-as-art documentary
  • January 23: (no broadcast)
  • January 30: Angry Video Game Nerd – The movie adaptation of the popular comic web series
  • February 6: Gaming in Color – LGBTQ gamer documentary
  • February 13: Super Game Jam: The Movie – Game development becomes entertainment
  • February 20: To be announced

These movies will air on Twitch's main channel and will be free of charge. Even if you've already seen these movies before, a fun night with a few thousand friends sounds like a good time to me. Here's to hoping the chat doesn't just become a bunch of copy-pasted spam.
