Playstation 4 Launch Delayed in China Just Before Release

January 8, 2015 by Jacob Saylor

Sad news for Chinese gamers.

Reports are indicating that Sony has delayed the launch of its Playstation 4 console in China just days before its release. Sony has made statements which indicate that there are "various factors" at play behind the delay of their black box, but sadly, this is probably an issue with Chinese officials. The country is notorious for making video games difficult to access.

That said, China has made big improvements to what is and what is not accepted. We're just happy to know that the Playstation 4 will be allowed a release, considering that gamers in China have been waiting since 2013 for their turn.

The Playstation 4 and PSVita were originally supposed to be released in China on January 11, 2015. They were priced at CNY 2,999 ($487), and CNY 1,299 ($210), respectively. This places their cost just below what gamers across the rest of the world had to pay during the Playstation 4's release.
