January 1, 2015 by Stephen Daly

All PSN members given a 10% discount code too.

Sony has announced compensation plans for those affected by the PlayStation Network DDoS attack over Christmas.

To make up for the outage, every PlayStation Plus member will be automatically given a five day extension to their membership. All PlayStation Network users will also be given a one-time 10 per cent discount code for use on the PlayStation Store later this month. The code can be used on games, DLC, movies, and TV shows.

In an update on the PlayStation Blog, the platform holder commented:

"All PlayStation Plus members that had an active membership or free trial on December 25th a membership extension of five days. The extension will be automatically applied, so no action is necessary to receive the extension.

"In addition, sometime this month we will announce that for a limited time, we will be offering a 10 percent discount code good for a one-time discount off a total cart purchase in the PlayStation Store as a thank you to all PSN members."

Earlier this week Sony confirmed that inFamous: First Light and Prototype 2 will be among the first Instant Game Collection offerings for PlayStation Plus members in 2015.
