Life is Strange’s First Episode Arrives in January

December 17, 2014 by Stephen Daly

DontNod releases début trailer to mark release date news.

The first episode of Life is Strange, a five-part adventure game from Remember Me developer DontNod Entertainment, will launch on January 30th, 2015, publisher Square Enix today announced.

To accompany the news, DontNod released a debut trailer which you can see above courtesy of Joystiq.

Life is Strange's story tells the tale of a teenage girl by the name of Max Caulfield who lives in the ficticious Oregon town of Arcadia Bay. Max attempts to reconncet with her distant friend Chloe Price, who's searching for a missing friend named Rachal Amber. Max quickly discovers that she can rewind time, and this feature becomes the driving force for the story. While Max's abilities are powerful, DontNod says player choice will matter.

Life is Strange is in development for PC, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One. The episode will cost $4.99, while a season pass covering the remaining four episodes will be available for an extra $16.99. In addition, a complete season pass covering all five episodes can be purchased for $19.99, a saving of $1.99. The full season pass will be sold on all platforms except for the Xbox 360.

DontNod expects to release a new episode once every six weeks.
