Assassin’s Creed Valhalla Receives New Nightmare Difficulty Today

September 7, 2021 by Dennis Patrick

Who is up for the challenge?

Assassin’s Creed fans have been going through the latest game for a good little while now. The Assassin’s Creed Valhalla installment was released back in November of last year, but we have seen several updates release for players since then. We recently received the Siege of Paris update hit the game, and now we have the 1.3.1 update. Outside of game improvements, Ubisoft has made additional content updates to give players a reason to check this game out.

The 1.3.1 update releases today, and it brings some worthwhile content. For instance, players can jump back into the game for new weapons and even abilities. The abilities added in brings out the Spinning Harpoon, which allows Eivor to perform a spinning attack, Percussion Arrow that has will knock shielded enemies back, and a Precision Axe Throw that allows Evior to get more damage when throwing an axe. Additionally, there are three new Rivers Raids, among some Rune Perk changes.

Assassin's Creed Valhalla Title Update 1.3.1 launches tomorrow: September 7.

One other notable addition that fans might find of interest is the fact that there is a more significant challenge for players to endure. You will now see that there is a Nightmare difficulty mode added into the game, which increases the damage players can receive, less healing from rations, along with a drop in parry timing windows. So if you’re looking for a more difficult challenge when going through Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, this is the difficulty setting for you.

As mentioned, this is the latest installment to the Assassin’s Creed franchise. After launching on November 10, 2020, players can pick it up for both last-generation and current-generation console platforms. This includes PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PC platforms.
