Metal Gear Solid 3 Finally Hits 3DS eShop on December 18

December 15, 2014 by Tony Ponce

Arrives at a budget price of $19.99.

One of the earliest revealed 3DS games, Metal Gear Solid: Snake Eater 3D, is finally about to be available as a digital download. The 3DS eShop has revealed that the portable port of the PS2 classic will hit the service at a budget price of $19.99. It also happens to be one of the few 3DS titles enhanced by the Circle Pad Pro accessory, so whip that out if you have it handy.

Snake Eater 3D was heavily promoted during the 3DS' first year, but when it finally arrived, fans were concerned by apparent graphical downgrades and the curious control scheme. Its impact was also lessened by the announcement and subsequent release a few short months later of the Metal Gear Solid HD Collection on PS Vita, which collected MGS3 and four other Metal Gear games on a single game card. That's probably your better pick, but if you lack a Vita, Snake Eater 3D isn't a horrible option.

Get ready for Metal Gear Solid: Snake Eater 3D on eShop this December 18.
