Rumor: Grand Theft Auto 5 PC Port Handled By Max Payne 3 PC Team, Already Runs At 60 FPS

December 13, 2014 by Ryan Parreno

The rumor comes thirdhand, but apparently from an actual Rockstar dev.

There is a new rumor that the team that handled the Windows version ofMax Payne 3 is also handling the Windows port of Grand Theft Auto 5.

This comes thirdhand, apparently from a Rockstar dev himself, who was involved in the game’s online mode for PS4, Xbox One, and Windows.

The port is progressing as well, as the devs already have the game running at 60 FPS. However, the dev would not divulge the specs for the PCs that they are using.

While Rockstar’s port of Grand Theft Auto 4 disappointed fans with its poor optimization, the PC version of Max Payne 3 was known for being well executed, and receiving parity reviews wise with the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 versions.

What do you think of this rumor? Would this convince you to buy or switch over to the Windows version when it comes out? Share your thoughts with us in the comments.
