Killzone Shadow Fall Update Lets You Use Virtual Currency Instead of Real Money

December 10, 2014 by Stephen Daly

Valor allows you to buy add-on packs using virtual currency.

Guerrilla Games has released a new update for its PlayStation 4 launch title Killzone: Shadow Fall which introduces a new in-game currency called Valor.

Players can use Valor to convert points from multiplayer matches into a virtual currency and use it to purchase multiplayer items which were previously only available if you were willing to spend real money.

Valor also features in PlayStation Vita game Killzone Mercenary, and allows Shadow Fall players purchase add-on pack for the game's multiplayer mode. The packs question are filled with either 80-plus customization items — voice over packs, character skins, and skins for your OWL drone — or 12 boosts which impact on how your character performes in multiplayer games.

The add-ons typically cost between $0.99 and $3.99, so the option to use virtual currency instead is a welcome. You can check out our review of Killzone Shadow Fall here.
