Insomniac has announced the Mystery of the Mooil Rig DLC, which will be the first story-based expansion for their over-the-top open world game Sunset Overdrive.
The DLC is set for release on December 23rd, and includes an all new area, the oil rig of the title, and some new gameplay mechanics such as the ability to dive into and jump out of water forever. By slamming into the sea, you'll be able to bounce higher into the air. Naturally, this doesn't make a lot of sense but then, that's not making sense is kind of the whole point. In addition, these new abilities will transfer over to the rest of the game.
The Mooil Rig DLC will also introduce plenty of new missions, amps, and weapons, although details of these are currently unknown. Xbox Live director of programming Larry 'Major Nelson' Hyrb showcases the Mooil Rig DLC in the video below.
