PlayStation Experience Event Reveals Latest Santa Monica Projects, Including David Jaffe’s New Game

December 7, 2014 by Ryan Parreno

Drawn to Death is one of four major projects the studio has worked on with other developers.

Sony has revealed games in yesterday’s PlayStation Experience event developed in association with Sony Santa Monica.

David Jaffe has finally revealed his next game after God of War and Twisted Metal. Drawn to Death is a four player free-for-all deathmatch shooter. Much like Jaffe’s other games, Drawn to Death is outwardly and unapologetically violent, but this time, hyperrealistic graphics have given way to a unique handdrawn notebook sketch aesthetic. Everything in the game is purported to be something that could have been conceived of by kid doodling in his sketchbook, including the characters, weapons, and stages.

Wattam is the latest game from Katamari Damacy creator Keita Takahashi. The trailer shares no hints on what gameplay will be like, but basing on Keita’s other games, it will probably involve a simple, addictive puzzle mechanic.

What Remains of Edith Fitch is a first person adventure game in the vein of Myst, but with darker themes. You play the game from the POV of several members of the Fitch family, recreating their individual deaths. As Edith, you try to piece together why you are the only one left.

Finally, MLB 15 The Show needs to introduction. SCE San Diego’s annualized baseball franchise will come out on March 31, 2015 on PS3, PS4, and Vita.
