Assassin’s Creed Victory Leaked, Set in Victorian London

December 2, 2014 by Stephen Daly

Ubisoft has officially commented on the leak.

Kotaku has revealed leaked details of next year's Assassin's Creed title, which will be called Victory and is set in Victorian London.

Victory will be the first Assassin's Creed game headed up by Ubisoft Quebec, all of the others have been primarily handled by Ubisoft Montreal. Quebec previously worked on the Tyranny of King Washington DLC for Assassin's Creed 3 and the Freedom Cry DLC for Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag.

Like Assassin's Creed Unity, the game is coming to PC, PS4, and Xbox One, and it's unclear whether another game is in the works for PS3 and Xbox 360 owners like this year's Rogue.

Kotaku says they have seen seven minutes of gameplay footage, and Victory appears to be using the most sophisticated version of the Anvil engine to date.

In a statement to PC Gamer and various other websites, Ubisoft commented on the leak saying:

"It is always unfortunate when internal assets, not intended for public consumption, are leaked. And, while we certainly welcome anticipation for all of our upcoming titles, we're disappointed for our fans, and our development team, that this conceptual asset is now public. The team in our Quebec studio has been hard at work on the particular game in question for the past few years, and we're excited to officially unveil what the studio has been working on at a later date. In the meantime, our number one priority is enhancing the experience of Assassin's Creed Unity for players."

Ubisoft recently had to apologise for the sheer volume of problems affecting Assassin's Creed Unity, and has attempted to make amends to players by issuing DLC for free and giving season pass holders a free game. Many feel Ubisoft should take a break next year and deliver a truly polished experience in 2016, but that does not appear to be happening. It's worth noting that Unity was delayed by several weeks, obstensibly to improve the game for launch.
