Age of Empires IV Will Have A Ton Of Interesting Mini Documentaries

August 25, 2021 by Dennis Patrick

Get some insight to historical medieval warfare.

Age of Empires fans is gearing up for the next major installment. Age of Empires IV aims to launch this October, so we don’t have very long of a wait to endure. However, there’s still plenty of time for the developers to unveil some new exciting aspects of the installment. Among that list is the fact we’ll be getting some interesting little documentaries. This is just another means to give players a bit more insight into the historical accuracy of the game.

Gamescom’s first stream, which was based around Microsoft’s Xbox platform, was held just yesterday. During that event, we got a small glimpse of the next Age of Empires video game. However, we got a bit more interesting trailer to highlight this game. Rather than talk about new mechanics or showcasing more gameplay footage, it was used to highlight a feature that players will have access to. There are a ton of little mini-documentaries within the video game for players to sit in and watch.

Those of you who love history will find appreciate these documentaries. They will cover all kinds of different aspects of medieval life. Whether it’s specific weapons to various procedures down on the fly, there’s something for you to watch. You won’t find these videos overstaying their welcome either since it’s all just a few minutes long. If you have a slight interest in something found within the game, then a video can be played, highlighting actual video footage. Again, for history buffs, this might make the game even more appealing. Likewise, it’s a nice change-up of getting video footage rather than a codex text.

It’s a bit like how Ubisoft offers the Discovery Tours for their Assassin’s Creed franchise. With it, players can see more of the historical life of the period. Unfortunately, for now, players will still need to wait for the game to launch officially. Currently, Age of Empires IV is slated to launch for the PC platform on October 28, 2021.
