Destiny: The Dark Below Expansion’s Opening Cinematic

November 20, 2014 by Stephen Daly

Get a load of Crota.

Destiny's first expansion, The Dark Below, will be available from December 9th, and the opening cinematic for the DLC has now been revealed.

Bungie has previously detailed The Dark Below, but the video gives us our first proper glimpse at Crota, a hive god and the focus of the expansion's story.

The expansion includes three story missions featuring new enemies and encounters in the Cosmodrome and Moon, a new Tower character and vendor, Eris, who offers new Quests, Bounties, and rewards, exclusive Legendary Weapons and Armour, new Exotic Weapons, the “Will of Crota” Strike, “Crota’s End” Raid, and three crucible maps: Pantheon, Skyshock, and The Cauldron

The maximum Light Level for players will increase to 32 (from 30).

To get ready for the expansion, Bungie recently released an extensive patch which adds new voice chat options, raises the number of bounties you can take to 10, and increases the rate of public events in all public areas by 10-15 per cent.
