Final Fantasy 15 Technology Demo Displays Beautiful Lighting, Environments and More

November 19, 2014 by Jacob Saylor

This game is gorgeous.

Final Fantasy XV has gone through a number of pretty big developments. It was first going to be released alongside Final Fantasy 13 as Final Fantasy 13: Versus. Obviously, that didn't pan out very well. Tetsuya Nomura also stepped down from work on the game a month or so ago to focus on Kingdom Hearts 3, so we're not sure how much that will affect development. One thing is for certain though: we should see Final Fantasy XV at some point in 2015. It probably won't be until later in the year – maybe even the holidays – but at least we're close.

There is a silver lining in this game having not been released yet, and that shows in its recent gameplay videos. Final Fantasy XV might just be one of the most beautiful games we've ever laid eyes on. Taking into account the fact that this title won't be seeing a PC release, that gets us really excited. This might be the first game to really take advantage of the Playstation 4 and Xbox One. That might be jumping the gun a bit, though, considering we'll be getting Uncharted 4: A Thief's End in 2014 as well.

At any rate, this latest technology demo from PlayStation's official Youtube account is really something of a spectacle. I've been waiting a long time for Final Fantasy XV, so even a small sliver of content like this is very exciting.

Is Final Fantasy XV as beautiful as we think it is, or are we just mental? Let us know in the comments section below.
