Panache Digital Games Formed By Former Assassins Creed Dev Patrice Desilets

November 13, 2014 by Ryan Parreno

They have made no announcements on current projects, but chances are Patrice is still working on 1666.

Patrice Desilets has formed a new game developer company, Panache Digital Games, over a year after leaving Ubisoft.

The Panache site shows little indication on what projects, if any, Patrice is working on, nor are there any signs of what platforms he is working on, if he is taking on any clients, etc. The closest lead we have is that he may be working on a 1666, or a similar project barring ownership issues.

Patrice made his name in Ubisoft, as creative lead over Assassin’s Creed and Assassin’s Creed II. His other major works within the company include Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six 3: Raven Shield, Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time, and Disney's Donald Duck: Goin' Quackers.

Desilets concerns with Ubisoft began in 2010, when he briefly stopped work on Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood, before leaving the project and company completely after 13 years. He was shortly picked up to head THQ Montreal, but in a strange turn of events, THQ itself went bankrupt and Patrice found his studio picked up by Ubisoft.

Patrice and Ubi would not see eye to eye in this unusual reunion, and Ubi ultimately dismissed Patrice over copyright disputes over his mysterious pet project, 1666.

We wish Patrice and Panache Digital the best of luck in their future endeavors, and hope they reveal their projects soon.
