Super Smash Bros. 4: Sample Screens of Two Wii U Events

November 5, 2014 by Tony Ponce

Events are not just about punching people anymore.

After a notable absence from last month's Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS, Event Matches are back in the upcoming Wii U version. For today's Miiverse update, Smash director Masahiro Sakurai gave us a quick peek at two of the single-player events.

Above is "Jackpot Opportunity," in which you must collect 1000 gold in order to pay off your loan to Tom Nook. Below is "It's Past Your Bedtime," in which you play as Jigglypuff and have to find a way to put all your opponents to sleep simultaneously. As Sakurai explained, lots of matches aren't just about knocking opponents over the edge. You might have to use your wits to get out of particularly puzzling situations like this.

Super Smash Bros. for Wii U will launch on November 21. There might be more details regarding the game revealed during today's Nintendo Direct.
