Mario Kart 8: Overheat in the Excitebike Arena

October 28, 2014 by Tony Ponce

Trailer for one of the new tracks in the upcoming DLC.

We recently learned that Yoshi Circuit from Double Dash!! would be one of the returning tracks in the upcoming Mario Kart 8 DLC, but I'm sure fans are more excited to check out the new courses. When we first heard about the DLC, we discovered that one of the new tracks would be based on the classic NES racer Excitebike. You can now catch a trailer for that course above.

In addition to the killer Excitebike music arrangement, this course is always changing up during non-Time Trial races — speed boost and ramp locations are never in the same place! Also, although everyone is driving bikes in the video, you obviously can bring standard karts if you so desire.

We're still waiting on trailers for the Zelda and F-Zero tracks, also scheduled for the November DLC. The second DLC pack arrives in May 2015, and you can buy each for $7.99 or a dual pack for $11.99.
