Star Citizen is a game that might see a hype train larger than most games before it. Dubbed a 'space trading and combat simulator,' Star Citizen is unlike most titles we have seen. Though there might be some comparisons made to the popular EVE Online MMORPG, space tends to look mostly the same regardless of what time or galaxy you are in.
The excitement fans are feeling for Star Citizen are becoming increasingly apparent, as one Youtuber, Corporation Incorporated, has made a video using some of the CryEngine assets. We love your channel name, by the way.
This Youtuber has created a synopsis for his almost three minute long story:
"An elite search and rescue team scourers an asteroid field in the Pyro System responding to a distress call from a Cutlass Blue prisoner transport and escort. The team already has a patient on board and was heading home when the call came in. The SAR escort team is still 20 minutes out, but there is no time to waste!"
This is the type of gameplay that players are becoming so excited for. Star Citizen is shaping up to be far more than just another game where gamers shoot and kill each other. As evidenced by this video, players will be forced to work together in sometimes life or death situations. This creates an interesting dynamic, as games have poked at this idea before – think DayZ – but never fully implemented it.
