GTA 5 Confirmed To Run At 1080p On PlayStation 4

October 25, 2014 by Ryan Parreno

OPM also brings up other improvements to the game.

Official Playstation Magazine has confirmed that GTA 5 will be running at 1080p on PlayStation 4.

They go out of their way to clarify that the game is not going to be rendered in the console at 720p, so this will be natively rendered 1080p resolution.

Aside from this, OPM affirmed the game will have improved draw distances, fresh wildlife, 100 new songs, and a better version of Grand Theft Auto Online. They go so far to say as it is the sandbox game of your dreams.

It's a good sign for people planning to upgrade or start over to the PlayStation 4 version, but it does make one wonder what plans Rockstar has for the PC version. Will it also be limited to 1080p resolution, or is Rockstar willing to bring it all the way up to 4K? Since GTA games are frequently three to five year affairs, it may mean we will have to wait a while before a full 4K GTA appears.

Are you hyped for the PlayStation 4 version of GTA 5, or were you also thinking of GTA 5 in 4K on PC? Share your thoughts with us in the comments below.

GTA 5 is coming to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on November 18, 2014, and on Windows on January 27, 2015.
