Dark Souls 2 Mod Allows You To Play In First Person

October 23, 2014 by Ryan Parreno

Relive earlier From Software days playing King’s Field with this nifty new mod.

Have you been playing From Software games since the days of King’s Field? You can somewhat recreate that experience on a newer game today. There is a new mod that allows you to play Dark Souls 2 in first person perspective.

You can download the cheat engine to use the mod here (289 KB). Once you have it installed, you simply freeze the camera zoom value, equip a bow/bincoculars, and zoom in.

The camera will stay zoomed in, allowing you to go around Drangleic and play this way. You can even fight in first person, as this demo video shows.

The game will switch back to third person if you trigger a cutscene or loading screen, but if it ever happens, you can just reset the camera and start over.

Being a fan mod, this comes with a lot of qualifications:

·         May not work on obsolete versions of the game.

·         May not work on Windows 2

·         FOV is wonky, though you can edit FOV to alleviate that

·         Clipping

·         Don’t go online using this, you will be banned for using a cheat engine

·         Character movement is not aligned with the camera

·         You may run into issues using the bows and binoculars.

If you have problems with camera freezing, use this other guide to fix it.
