Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel Secret Boss ‘Nel’ Guide

October 22, 2014 by Ryan Parreno

There is an NPC in Moon Zoomy Run you can turn into a boss via a special interaction.

This is a guide on how to open up Nel as a boss in Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel.

Nel is a guard at Moon Zoomy Run, whom you can find leaning against a wall. By all appearances, he is a normal friendly NPC. However, there is a special way to interact with him that will lead to him going after you, as a hidden boss.

Surrounding Nel are two high towers. One of them has the writing ‘IC 57’  You will need to jump your way up to the tops of the towers to find two signs with the letters D and K on them. When you get there, you can also get some gear, which you can choose to pass on or pick up at your discretion.

You’ll want to scale the ‘IC 57’ second, because when you get both signs, what you need to do is put the signs in front of them in such a way that it spells out the word DICK.

When Nel sees it, he will crumple into the ground and start crying. You have met the objective! At this point, the boss battle begins.

Nel himself is not that hard to beat, but before you get to him, you will take on huge waves of Scavs, ‘Lil Scavs, and Badass Scavs. Nel won’t actually attack you until you take them out.

Nel is fire based. He uses fire weapons, including fire grenades. Nel is also resistant to Incendiary attacks. You will want to use a fire impervious shield, but any powerful non-fire based weapon, is enough to take him out. Our source used a shotgun; simple, but effective.

Nel will also create some waves to help him fight you, but you just need to be mindful of them.

When you kill Nel, you get a chance to acquire the Ti’kope Skullmasher, a combination shotgun/ sniper rifle from the first two Borderlands games.
