Final Fantasy XIII: The Seventh Ark, Unreleased Content, Found In PC Game Code

October 20, 2014 by Ryan Parreno

The game’s Ultimania Omega reveals that this would have been a mini-quest free battle area.

Fans have found some interesting content in the PC version of Final Fantasy XIII.

By messing around with the code, fans were able to access a hidden area called the Seventh Ark. The Seventh Ark appears to have been intended as DLC to be released after launch. Accessing the Ark, Lightning and her friends are compelled to face a Nemesis boss who resembles the fal’Cie Anima in the start of the game. The area was recycled for Final Fantasy XIII-2, as the battleground against the demi- fal’Cie Adam. You can watch how this would have played out in the video above.

The Seventh Ark was mentioned in the Final Fantasy XIII Ultimania Omega. In the reference book, it was explained that the location was to be a free battle area, allowing you to engage in mini-quests, perhaps for some short and sweet gameplay sessions.

Ultimately, Square Enix found the Seventh Ark did not live up to what they wanted in the game so it did not make the cut. Would you have preferred that they kept and released this DLC? Share your thoughts with us in the comments.
