Pokemon Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire: Video of Mega Latios and Mega Latias in Action

October 14, 2014 by Tony Ponce

And we finally learn the secret of black landmasses.

Last week, Japan's CoroCoro spilled the beans on Mega Evolutions for Beedrill and Pidgeot, as well as officially confirmed the existence of Mega Evolutions for Latios and Latias. Like clockwork, The Pokemon Company has assembled a short trailer that showcases all the recently announced features.

The major focus of the video is on Mega Latios and Mega Latias, who as we explained before will be used to fly up into the clouds in order to battle and capture Legendary Pokemon. The "sky islands" where the Legendaries are found are in fact black clouds called Mirage Spots — in other words, this is the answer to the "dark island" mystery we proposed way back in June. Here you'll be able to tangle with the likes of Ho-oh, Lugia, Dialga, Palkia, Reshiram, Zekrom, and others.

The other big feature of the trailer is the PokeNav Plus, which functions similarly to Pokemon-Amie in X &Y. Basically, it's like Tamagotchi but with Pokemon.

Pokemon Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire lands on 3DS this November 21.
