Quantum Break Gameplay Shows Gunplay, Time Manipulation

October 10, 2014 by Jacob Saylor

A new gameplay video of Quantum Break looks amazing.

Quantum Break, Remedy Entertainment's upcoming Xbox One exclusive third-person shooter was announced earlier this year at Gamescom. The time manipulative gameplay turned a few heads, as it added a nuance to the third person shooter genre that seems to have been lost by the wayside. Remedy Entertainment left us all wanting more and today they delivered to us just that: 10 minutes of gameplay! While the gameplay itself comes from a Japanese source and is commentated by this source as well, you can no less follow along and appreciate what's being shown.

We'll start by describing the game as absolutely beautiful. There's always a phase at the beginning of each new console generation where it feels like there wasn't a lot of technological improvement made, but Quantum Break appears to be breaking the Xbox One out of that rut. While we won't be able to say for sure until we get our hands on the game, our hopes are pretty high. The gameplay also shows some gunplay, which doesn't appear to feature anything special in and of itself. As one of the main characters moved around the battlefield, we were struck a bit by the fluid animations, but that's about it. This video also shows what makes Quantum Break unique: time manipulation. You're able to change the flow of time as you play any of the three main characters – Jack Joyce, Beth Wilder, and Paul Serene.

Quantum Break hits store shelves at an undisclosed time in 2015. Until then, take a look at the gameplay we've discussed here below:
