Final Fantasy: Type-0 Release Date Announced

October 8, 2014 by Jacob Saylor

Ahead of NYCC, Amazon has mad a mistake.

We reported just yesterday that Tetsuya Nomura himself is going to be making appearances at this weekend's New York Comic Con. Given Nomura's recent step back from Final Fantasy XV, we're betting that he's there for more than autographs and booth traffic. Although, ff you're into that sort of thing, head over to the Square Enix booth this weekend. Nomura loves his fans and will surely do his best to help you out.

Another interesting development has revealed itself just ahead of NYCC. Amazon makes these mistakes quite regularly, but the online marketplace has posted a listing Final Fantasy: Type-0 for the Playstation 4, Xbox One and PC. We're not sure what exactly is going on here, but it seems that the cogs over at Square Enix are certainly moving these past couple of weeks. While they haven't had a big showing at NYCC in the past, we're getting very excited to see what they come up with this weekend.

The listing features a March 20, 2015 release date, which seems a bit farfetched for a game that has not even been released yet. Sometimes smaller games fly under the radar, but there's been literally nothing concerning this particular title up until now. That said, it is simply a port of an earlier title. Given that the game's handheld alter ego, Final Fantasy Agito, was a more recent release, it's possible they are just making less of a fuss about the revamped console versions. Though, with this console generation being so new and opportunity so ripe, it's hard for us to believe that Square Enix would hold back information on this title so close to its release. Let's be real: they started talking about Kingdom Hearts 3 back in 2013 and the game doesn't even release until sometime next year.
